Hi, I’m Tami Corbett.
I love helping people grow — and I've built my career around designing the training and learning experiences that make that possible.
For over 15 years, I've worked across corporate, nonprofit, and education settings, creating onboarding programs, training modules, and coaching relationships that help people feel confident and capable in their roles. I use the ADDIE model and adult learning theory as my foundation, but what really drives my work is curiosity about how people learn best — and a genuine care about making sure training feels useful, not just required.
Along the way, I've picked up a good bit of HR knowledge too — supporting employee relations, performance conversations, and team culture — and I'm currently working toward my SHRM-CP certification to keep building in that direction. But at heart, I'm a learning and development person first: I light up when I get to take something complicated and turn it into a program that actually helps someone succeed.
Whether it's scripting a training video, redesigning an onboarding journey, or sitting down with someone to talk through a rough patch at work, my goal is the same — help people feel supported, capable, and set up to do good work.
Design that Teaches. Learning that Inspires.
Digital Accessibility Projects:
Resource, Training, & Onboarding Hub
An Information, Training, and Onboarding Hub is a created space where important documents, policy manuals, training aids, training videos, and any other media that is needed for reference are housed. The hub becomes a “go to” place for new and veteran staff members. They will be able to easily access important information to review and refer to.
While different tech platforms and tools can be used to create a hub, this specific featured project utilized tools from Microsoft to form the structure of the Hub. Multiple external technological tools were used to create assets and training resources for staff members. By clicking the button below, you will learn more about how this project came to fruition as well as the process, the specific tools used for this project, and the successful impact the creation of this project has.
"Design is not just what it looks like and feels like. Design is how it works."
Steve Jobs said this in a 2003 interview with The New York Times while discussing the development of the iPod. He was pushing back against the idea that designers are just people who "wrap a box" to make it look pretty; he believed design was the fundamental soul of a product's function. This is especially true in adult education, where the "work" is a permanent shift in capability and mindset.
In the world of instructional design, the most impactful digital experiences are those where artistry meets the architecture of the mind. An effective e-learning course is more than just a collection of information; it is a curated environment where aesthetic elegance serves a strategic purpose. By weaving together the principles of Andragogy—respecting the learner's autonomy and experience—with high-fidelity visual design, we transform passive consumption into active mastery.
The idea is to create a friction-free journey where the beauty of the interface invites the learner in, and the rigor of the pedagogy ensures they walk away transformed, confident, and ready to excel.
In the realm of professional development, a truly exceptional training video is where craft meets cognitive science. These are not merely recordings of information, but learning experiences designed to respect the sophisticated needs of the adult mind. By integrating Social Learning Theory—where learners connect with authentic, relatable presenters—with intentional production values, we reduce cognitive friction and foster an environment of trust. These videos go beyond the surface, utilizing the ARCS Model of Motivation to grab attention through storytelling, establish immediate relevance to the learner’s career, and build the confidence necessary for real-world application. When thorough, evidence-based content is delivered through a polished, aesthetically intentional lens, the result is more than just "training"—it is a catalyst for professional growth.

eLearning Courses and Videos
eBooks, Job Aids, and “Just In Time” Learning Aids
In the workplace, professional job aids and ebooks serve as the vital connective tissue between formal education and real-world performance. While traditional courses lay the groundwork, job aids function as high-value performance support tools that provide "just-in-time" guidance at the moment of need, effectively combatting the Forgetting Curve by reducing the reliance on rote memory.
Complementary to this, ebooks offer a structured, deep-dive resource that supports self-directed learning, allowing adult learners to master complex concepts at their own pace. When these resources are designed with an aesthetic focus on clarity—utilizing Dual Coding Theory by pairing concise text with strategic visuals—they do more than just inform; they reduce cognitive load and empower employees to execute tasks with immediate confidence and precision.
